One day, Margaret Manning decided to quit her job and create a Sixty and Me community aimed at women over the age of 60.

Her idea was to open the eyes of many women and make them question the purpose of their lives. In particular, she had noticed how women in their 30s almost invariably felt insecure and hesitated about the direction of their lives.

For this reason, Margaret called on all members of her growing community to share one guide for themselves with half the younger women. With sincere and carefully thought-out instructions, they expressed what they hoped they knew three decades earlier as they began their journey toward adulthood.

Here we reveal the guidelines of life that women shared with their younger people:

1. Remember that you only have one life ; this is not a general exercise.

2. Try to  be positive and focus on positive things in everything you do.

3. Live  here and now.

4. Live each day of your life to the fullest, for you never know what the next day will bring when it comes.

5. Remember that  life can turn upside down in an instant.

6.  Love every step of your life  and don’t be afraid of them, because every single step in your life is unique and magical.

7.  Learn to live in the moment. If you can do it at a young age, it will help you tremendously when you are 60 years old.

8. Life is too short from worrying about the future.

9. Go out and enjoy nature !

10. Find yourself a hobby or job that will make you feel the unique feelings that each stage of life brings when it comes.

11.  Be yourself.  Aging with dignity.

12. Focus on  aging in a positive  way and not in a way that avoids aging.

13.  Accept the changes in your body and mind as you  age.

14.  Always be honest with yourself. This is a slow learning process, but well worth the effort.

15. Hold on to your memories, but don’t be too harsh on yourself.

17.  Forget the stereotypes society has about aging.

18. Don’t worry about aging. Worry about boredom.

19.  Age is just a number and does not define who you are.

20. Time passes, whether you like it or not, so start living!

21. Never stop inspiring yourself.

22. Live simply and safely. Move, take care of yourself, read and travel.

23. Buy vintage clothes because they are always in fashion.

24.  Don’t waste your money on shoes;  men don’t notice your feet.

25. Don’t collect unnecessary people or things in your life.

26. Be yourself and radiate. Show that you are present, genuine and aware of every moment of your life.

27. Do not overdo it with wrinkles.  When they start to appear on your face, treat them like a map of your life.

28. Live passionately and lovingly, heart and eyes open. Simply put: be happy.

29. Live in the moment; don’t worry about aging. The best is still ahead.

30.  Nurture the little things in life ; don’t make things harder than what they are.

31.  Love and respect your spouse and children in the  same way you would like them to love and respect you.

32. Share your love freely and unconditionally. 

33. Have children when it feels right. There is no set time for it.

34. Show compassion for yourself and the people around you.

35.  Take lots of pictures, because you will be happy about them when your loved ones are no longer here.

36.  Learn to forgive  when you are young.

37. Forget your anger and let gratitude and happiness lead you forward in life.

38. Gather around you  an intimate group of female friends. That is hugely important!

39. Appreciate your family. They are present as others echo from you. They will support you throughout your life.

40. Never go to bed angry with yourself or anyone else.

41. Tell your partner, friends, and family each day  how much you love them.

42. At the age of 30, you become a woman. Appreciate your beauty.

43. Don’t waste your time worrying about things you can’t influence. Change the things that can be changed.

44. If you are in a bad relationship, get rid of it. You can’t force anyone to change. 

45. Take care of your skin! And smile often.

46. ​​Trust your instincts and never belittle yourself.

47. Be gentle with yourself.  Don’t think about things you can’t influence. If something makes you feel bad, get rid of it.

48. Learn to laugh at yourself. Don’t be so serious! 

49. Set aside some time for yourself each day; laugh and smile.

50. Simply be yourself. Do not strive for perfection in vain.

51. If you have children, love them, but don’t even try to be a perfect mother.

52. Let your children be your teachers.

53. Be a warrior; Learn to use your own strengths and be independent.

54. Don’t let fear lead you.

55. Never stop learning and developing your mind, body, and soul.

56. Be grateful for every day, even on bad days.  They always provide an opportunity to learn something new.

57. Accept the positive aspects of aging such as the fact that gradually you have less responsibility and more freedom.

58.  Many struggles become simpler with age.

59. Don’t let anyone believe you that you’re too old to do something! Or too young.

60. Do not be afraid. As you get older, you will feel calm.  Life and nature prepare you for every stage of your life.
